Why does availability differ from the airline site?

Seats.aero works hard to give you accurate, up-to-date award availability, but sometimes you may see differences between our results and what’s on an airline’s site. This can happen for a few reasons:

1. Dynamic pricing

Some airlines use dynamic pricing for award seats, which means the mileage cost can change at any time. We filter dynamically priced awards to only show options we consider “reasonable.” If you don’t see a dynamically priced award in Seats.aero, it might still be available directly with the airline.

Pro tip: Pro users can turn off this filter in Settings to view all dynamically priced awards.

2. Expanded award space

Airlines sometimes offer extra award availability to certain customers, such as:

  • Frequent flyer program members with elite status
  • Co-branded credit card holders
  • Passengers booking round-trip instead of one-way

If you have these benefits, you might see more flights on the airline site than we can display.

3. Timing differences

Award inventory changes constantly. A flight that was available when we last checked may have been booked by another traveler, or new seats may have been released since our last update.

Pro tip: Try a Live Search for the most up-to-date results.

4. Route or program limitations

Some partner airlines don’t share their full award inventory with other carriers, so flights may only appear when booking directly. This is especially common with certain premium cabins or special routes.

If you find a flight on the airline’s site that isn’t showing on Seats.aero, feel free to contact us with the details so we can investigate.
