How to Search by Airport, City, or Region Code
Seats.aero supports special codes that make it easier to search across multiple airports at once. These can help you find more options without running separate searches for each airport.
You can use them in both the From and To fields when using the Search tool.
Types of Codes We Support
- Airport codes – Standard 3-letter IATA codes for a single airport, like JFK (New York-JFK), LHR (London Heathrow), or SFO (San Francisco).
- City codes – Group multiple airports in a metropolitan area, like:
- NYC – New York City area (JFK, LGA, EWR)
- WAS – Washington, DC area (IAD, DCA, BWI)
- TYO – Tokyo area (HND, NRT)
- Region codes – Special Seats.aero codes that group airports by region or airline hubs, like:
- CAL – California airports (LAX, SFO, SAN, OAK, SJC, SMF)
- EUR – Major European airports
- DLL – Delta Air Lines major hubs
How to Use Them
- In the From or To field, start typing the airport, city, state, or code.
- Pick the correct option from the dropdown suggestions.
- For broader results, choose a city code or region code instead of a single airport.
Tips
- Unsure of a code? Type the name (e.g., California) and select from the suggestions.
- For more flexibility, try a city or region code to see all airports in that area at once.
- Codes work in both directions — for example, searching LON → NYC shows results from any London-area airport to any New York-area airport.
