Seats.aero on Mobile vs Desktop

Seats.aero uses the same underlying availability data on both web and mobile. If results look different between the app and the website, it’s usually due to how searches are scoped or displayed, not because availability is missing.

Why results may look different

Search defaults

The mobile app may start with narrower defaults to keep searches fast and readable. For example, it may default to nonstop routes, shorter date ranges, or fewer programs selected.

Filters carry over

Filters you’ve used previously in the app can remain active. This includes cabin, airline, stops, fees, or duration limits. The web and app store these independently, so settings may not match.

Result grouping and limits

For performance and usability, the app may group or limit how many results are shown at once. The website surfaces a broader view of cached results by default.

Feature rollout timing

New filters, search modes, or tools often launch on web first and roll into the app shortly after. During that window, the web may expose more controls.

How to get the broadest view

  • Clear filters in the app before re-running a search
  • Widen date ranges or airport selections
  • Switch to the website if you want the full cached result set at once

When to use each

📱 Mobile app

Best for quick checks, managing alerts, and monitoring availability on the go.

💻 Web

Best for deep award planning, broad exploration, and detailed filtering.

💡 Tip: If something looks “missing” in the app, it’s almost always worth checking the same search on web. The data is shared, but the presentation is optimized differently.
