Why am I being charged sales tax?
Depending on where you live, we may be required to collect sales tax on digital subscriptions like seats.aero. If sales tax applies to your billing address, you’ll see it added at checkout or when your subscription renews.
Why didn’t I see sales tax before?
Sales tax rules vary by location and can change over time. If you’re seeing sales tax now but didn’t previously, it means sales tax applies to your billing address and we’re required to collect it.
How is the sales tax amount calculated?
Sales tax is based on the billing address on your account and the tax rules for that location. Rates can vary by state, county, and city.
Can you remove or waive the sales tax?
We can’t remove sales tax when it’s required for your location. The best way to make sure you’re charged correctly is to confirm that your billing address is accurate.
How do I update my billing address?
You can update it directly from your account:
Click your email in the top right corner
Go to Settings
Click Manage Billing
Choose Update billing address
Any changes will apply to future charges.
What if I think my sales tax is wrong?
Reach out to support and include:
The email on your seats.aero account
Your billing address, or at least your state and ZIP
A screenshot of the charge or invoice
We can help verify that everything is set correctly.
What happens to sales tax if I get a refund?
If a refund applies, sales tax is typically refunded as part of the total, depending on how the transaction is processed.
