How to Use seats.aero with ChatGPT for Free
You can use seats.aero with ChatGPT to search public award flight availability within the next 60 days, without a seats.aero account or PRO subscription.
If ChatGPT is asking you to sign in or subscribe to PRO, you're likely trying to install our official plugin, which requires a PRO account.
To use seats.aero for free, you'll need to add it as a custom MCP server instead.
How to connect for free
- Open ChatGPT Plugins and select Add in the top-right corner.

Choose Add custom MCP server.
Enter the following details:
- Name: seats.aero Free
- Server URL: https://seats.aero/mcp
- Authentication: No authentication
- Review the warning and select I understand and want to continue.
- Click Create as a plugin.
- Find your new plugin under your personal plugins and click the + button to install it.
- Start a new ChatGPT conversation, type @, select seats.aero Free, and ask ChatGPT to search for award flights.
Important: Make sure you select No authentication. Choosing OAuth will prompt you to connect a seats.aero PRO account.
What can I do with free access?
With the free integration, you can:
- Search public award flight availability for departures within the next 60 days.
- Explore airports and routes.

For access to the full award search calendar, live availability searches, award alerts, and additional advanced tools, you'll need a seats.aero PRO subscription.
