How to Use seats.aero with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Other AI Assistants

You can now connect seats.aero to your favorite AI assistant to search award flights, compare redemption options, and manage alerts using natural language.

Simply describe the trip you're looking for, and your AI assistant can search seats.aero for you!

What can you do?

With seats.aero connected, you can:

Find award flights: Search available award flights by route, dates, cabin class, loyalty program, and mileage price.
Compare redemption options: Explore award pricing and credit card points-transfer partners.
Search live availability (PRO): Run live searches using your existing allowance.
Manage award alerts (PRO): Create, review, and expire alerts.
Explore additional tools (PRO): Discover award deals, United upgrade availability, and more.

How to connect your AI assistant

Visit https://seats.aero/mcp for setup instructions for each supported assistant.

ChatGPT

Open ChatGPT and navigate to Plugins.
Search for seats.aero and click + Install plugin.
Connect your seats.aero PRO account when prompted to access live searches, alerts, and other PRO features.
Open a new chat, select the seats.aero plugin, and start searching.

Claude

Open the Claude connector directory and find seats.aero.
Follow the prompts to add the connector.
Connect your seats.aero PRO account to unlock live searches and alert management.
Enable seats.aero in your chat's connectors menu and start searching.

Gemini

On the Gemini website, go to Settings → Connected Apps.
Under Custom apps, select Add a custom app.
Enter the server URL: https://seats.aero/mcp .
Sign in with your seats.aero PRO account and approve the requested permissions.
In a chat, type @ , select seats.aero, and enter your search.

Claude Code

Run the following command in your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user seats-aero https://seats.aero/mcp

To access PRO features, authenticate with:

claude mcp login seats-aero

Start a new Claude Code session and run /mcp to verify the connection.

Note: Custom integrations may require specific account permissions or settings depending on your AI assistant.

Free vs. PRO access

Free access (no account required)

You can search public award availability for flights departing within the next 60 days, explore airports and routes, and look up points-transfer partners.

Anonymous access is limited to 1,000 requests per IP address per day.

PRO access

Connecting your seats.aero PRO account unlocks:

Live award availability searches
Award deals and United upgrade availability
Award alert management
Additional advanced tools

PRO integration requests share your account's API allowance. Live searches also use your existing live-search allowance.

Example searches

Once connected, try asking:

"Find two business class award seats from Boston to Lisbon in May using Chase or Amex points."
"Which mileage programs have the cheapest first class flights to Tokyo this winter?"
"Set an alert for Qatar Airways Qsuite availability from JFK to Doha in June."

You can refine your results by specifying travel dates, airports, cabin classes, airlines, or loyalty programs.

Troubleshooting

I'm being asked to sign in again.

Follow the authorization prompt to reconnect your seats.aero account. If the issue continues, try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration.

My search isn't returning any results.

An empty result doesn't necessarily mean no award seats are available. Try adjusting your dates, airports, or loyalty programs. Not all routes or award programs are supported.

I'm receiving an API quota error.

PRO integration requests share your account's API allowance. If you've reached your limit, you'll need to wait until your allowance resets.

Are the award results guaranteed to be bookable?

No. Award availability and pricing can change quickly. Always verify availability, mileage prices, and fees directly with the airline before transferring points or booking.
